Children’s Ministries

Ebenezer’s desire is for all children to develop a personal relationship with Jesus!

That’s why whether it is Children’s Church on Sunday mornings or Wednesday night activities, all of our programs are centered on Him.

Children’s Activities

Sunday Mornings:

9:15 AM – Children’s Church 

10:30 AM – Sunday School

Sunday Nights:

5:00 PM – Disciple Practice Time

Wednesday nights:

5:00 PM – Dinner

6:00 PM – Music for all ages

6:45 PM – Missions Friends for 3K-5K and GAs (Girls) and RAs (Boys) for 1st-5th Grade

Nursery

A nursery is provided for children too young for Children’s Church. Childcare is provided throughout the 9:15 AM worship service and during the following Sunday School hour.

Children’s Church

Each Sunday morning at 9:15 AM, a worship service specifically designed for kids in 4K-6th grade takes place. Kids will sing songs, watch skits and puppets, play games, and learn about the Bible!

Sunday School

There are Sunday School classes for children based on their respective ages immediately following Children’s Church.

Music and Missions

Wednesdays nights consist of musical activities and participation in service projects. Our Girls in Action (GAs) and Royal Ambassadors (RAs) are for kids in 1st – 6th Grade. Children in 3K-5K participate in Mission Friends to learn about missions and community service.

Disciples

Disciples are boys and girls in the 4th & 5th grades who help lead in Children’s Church. They sing songs, play bell chimes, read scripture, pray aloud, do sign language/choreography to current Christian music,  perform skits and puppets and are generally role models for the younger boys and girls. They arrive early on Sunday mornings before Children’s Church and they meet each Sunday afternoon for practice. During practice, in addition to getting ready for the upcoming weeks, we also participate in activities to grow our faith. Every few months we have a fun Disciple Outing.

Vacation Bible School

VBS Dates are June 24-27, 2024.

Camp

Centrikid Camps are sponsored by Lifeway. We take children who have completed grades 3-5. We have adult chaperones who accompany the children to camp, but there is a camp staff who leads each activity so we have time to spend with the children instead of “leading” them. 
 
We begin our day with breakfast and Time Alone With God; followed by Team Time with Bible Study and Rec.  In the afternoons we participate in 2 different fun tracks that each camper chooses; then there’s hang time with various activities. After supper we have worship and our church group time.  Every activity ends with a re-cap with scripture and how this activity applies to the theme of “Going beyond the surface God sees the heart”. Every facet of camp is intentional to bring the child to a personal relationship with God.

Church Calendar 

Ebenezer Baptist Church was founded in 1778 near the banks of Jeffries Creek, not far from our current location today. Since that time, Ebenezer has sought to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to its community, state, nation, and world.
