Music & Missions
On Wednesday nights during the school year, Ebenezer provides an opportunity for children to participate in music classes and learn about missions. After the supper hour 5:15-6:20p.m., we have a graded choir program for our children, 3K-6th grade, from 6:20-7:00p.m. This is followed by missions activities from 7:00-7:45 p.m. We have a dedicated group of volunteer members who lead each group. Every class has at least two adult leaders.
During the fall, grades 2-6 usually prepare a Christmas musical that ispresented on two consecutive nights in early December. From January-May grades 1-6 are given the opportunity to select 3 different classes to attend. Bell Chimes, Boomwhackers, Drama, Guitar, Movers & Shakers,
Puppets, Singing or Stomp are some of our choices. At the end of each 6 week cycle each group has a short presentation. Parents and the pre-school choirs are invited to attend. Each week our pre-school choirs explore music with their voices and with instruments. They sing several times a year during worship to share what they have learned.
Missions is a high priority at Ebenezer and our RA & GA program is a great way for children to learn and do missions.
These groups meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 -7:45pm during the school year.
Children learn about how to be missionaries right in their own church through projects and activities that are age-appropriate. Operation Christmas Child, House of Hope and Honduras Missions are just some of the projects that the boys and girsl work on throughout the year.
In the summer the boys and girls also have the opportunity to go to various RA & GA camps.
